Highlights of North India and Nepal combine tour

This 14-day North India and Nepal combine tour offers history, spirituality, and culture. Your journey begins in Delhi, India, where you will tour both Old and New Delhi.

Firstly, you will visit the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Rajghat, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, India Gate, and the President’s House. And in the Pink City, you will visit the Amber Fort. By getting a rickshaw ride through the old city, you can discover the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal.

From there, the tour takes you to Agra to visit Fatehpur Sikri, Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort. Passing by train and road, you will arrive in Khajuraho when traveling from Orchha and experience the amazing temples of this site. The journey continues to Varanasi and a boat ride during sunrise on the holy Ganges.

After that, explore the narrow lanes of the old city and visit the Sarnath Temple.  This ends the mesmerizing North India tour.

For the next leg of the journey, we will cross the border to enter Nepal.

First, you’ll visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Afterward, in Chitwan National Park, jungle safaris, canoe rides, bird-spotting walks, and cultural performances will be conducted. After crossing the plain land of Chitwan, you will travel to the Pokhara valley.

The place is full of elevated views of the hills and a short trek to the traditional village of Dhampus. It has stunning snow-covered Himalayan vistas and a flavor of Gurung culture. Our tour ends in Kathmandu, where you can venture through the vibrant streets of Thamel for souvenirs.

Highlights

Delhi: Explore the woven tapestry of time in Delhi. Stroll through the time-stamped, centuries-old corridors of the old city. Here, the majestic Red Fort and the stunning Jama Masjid await you. Progressing further, in New Delhi, stand the lofty President’s House, India Gate, and other bespoke relics of an erstwhile empire.

Jaipur: The rickshaw rides in the dreamlike “Pink City” are not just about the City Palace. They also take you to the dizzying Jantar Mantar. The stunning Hawa Mahal features a rayed sun and a honeycomb façade. It also includes the famous honeycomb pavilion of the Republic.

Agra:Gaze in awe at the breathtaking Taj Mahal, a timeless monument to eternal love. You’ll also explore the powerful Agra Fort and the fascinating ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri.

Khajuraho: The silhouette formed in silence around the grand temples. It crouched on the stone, with grooved borders, intricately carved to honour the gods. Each relief, not just the sum, is a winning stone for a palace with ancient deeds. It is crafted with delicate, defying devotion, creating a huge headquarters full of vertical, complex history.

Varanasi: Start your day on the Ganges at sunrise. Feel the magic of dawn as you float. Don’t forget the whispers of life and death that dance on the bank of the river. Weaving, as an artist, through uncountable porches, find and play with the Sarnath Temple, to dance your spirit tight, right at the heart of the temple.

Lumbini: one of the holiest places in the world – is a prime example of serenity. Located there is the exact spot where Lord Buddha was born.

Chitwan National Park: Embark on an unforgettable jungle adventure. Spot incredible wildlife on a safari, enjoy a quiet canoe ride, and connect with local culture.

Pokhara Valley:  Trek into the stunning Pokhara Valley for an experience you’ll never forget. Hike to the traditional village of Dhampus, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking Himalayan views and a glimpse into authentic Gurung life.

Itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Delhi

In Delhi, our Executive will meet you at the Airport followed by a private transfer from Airport to Hotel.  Later visit Red Fort (photo – stop)  massive sandstone fort built by Shah Jahan on the banks of river Yamuna. Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India and stands across the road from the Red Fort, built in 1656 by Shahjahan. About 20,000 people can pray here at the same time at Jama Masjid, which was built from 1644 to 1658 in the reign of Shahjahan. The mosque, which measures 65m on 35m, and whose court forms a square of 100m on side, is by its surface the greatest religious construction of Islam. Along this, Rajghat is the cremation ground of the great father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02

Delhi Sightseeing and Depart to Jaipur

After breakfast sightseeing of New Delhi where you visit Qutub Minar which is the tower of victory started by Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibak in 1199AD upon becoming sultan of Delhi, Lotus temple- this distinctive lotus shaped marvel in Marble is a symbol peace, India Gate (the war memorial) and Presidents House (From outside). Later depart to Jaipur. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03

Jaipur Sightseeing

In the morning, after breakfast a half day city tour of Jaipur including an excursion to Amber fort. At Amber fort visit Sheesh Mahal, Ganesh Pol, Shila Devi Temple, Kesar Kyari Bagh. Climb up the fort on elephant’s back (Subject to availability) like the Maharajas and visit the Amber Palace of the Kuchchawa rulers.Afternoon sightseeing tour of Jaipur city visiting The City Palace, Jantar Mantar & drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Also Enjoy a Rickshaw ride through the old part of Pink city.Evening demonstration of Gem-cutting & polishing. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04

Drive from Jaipur to Agra

After breakfast depart for Agra en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, on arrival check in at the hotel. Later visit Agra Fort. The elegant building inside reflects an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural style built by Emperor Akber . Evening visit Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday) Taj Mahal perhaps the most photographed monument in the world, may you have heard about the Taj Mahal and once you see so many pictures of buildings your expectations are really high and this is the enigma about the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal’s glory and beauty of building surpasses beyond all human imaginations. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05

Agra - Jhansi - Khajuraho

After breakfast transfer to Agra railway station and board train to Jhansi, upon arrival continue overland to Khajuraho Enroute visit Orchha Fort a 16th Century architectural site on the banks of the beautiful Betwa river. And Raja Ram temple. Continue driving to Khajuraho and checking into the hotel. Optional – Evening enjoy light & Sound show on the Western Group of temples complex that reminds the life and times of the great Chandela Kings and mark out the story of the exclusive temples from the 10th Century to the present day. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06

Drive from Khajuraho to Varanashi (approx.8hrs - 392km)

After having early morning breakfast, we will continue our drive to Khajuraho to Varanasi. It takes approximately 8 hours to reach, the rural landscapes of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will not get you bored. Enroute you may take a short break at panna for views of the Ken River or in the towns like Satna and Rewa. This whole route follows the fertile fields and villages that offer the rural lifestyle. By evening, arrive in Varanasi, check in to your hotel, and relax after the long drive, or take a short walk along the ghats to witness the serene evening atmosphere of the Ganga.  Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07

Varanashi Sightseeing

Take an early morning boat ride to see pilgrims gathering on the ghats to bathe in the sacred Ganges as the city begins to come alive in the misty light of dawn. Late breakfast, then take a walk through the narrow lanes of the old city. Late this afternoon take an excursion to the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Sarnath. At the museum, see excavated pillars from the Maurya dynasty (323-185 B.C.) and ancient stupas. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08

Drive from Varanashi to Bhairawa

Today you have to set out for the long drive from Varanasi to the Indo-Nepal border at Bhairahawa. It will take around 9 hours, where you pass through the heartland of Uttar Pradesh, bustling towns, roadside markets, and fertile farmlands that represent the vibrant local life. During travelling, you can pause for the tea and meal break at roadside and Dhabas and Restaurant. As you reach Gorakhpur, traffic, local trade and crowd make the road busy. On arrival at the Bhairahawa border, you will complete the necessary formalities and move to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel

Day 09

Drive from Bhairawa to Chitwan

In the morning, you visit the site of Lord Buddha’s birthplace- Lumbini. The sacred spot is marked with a pillar by Emperor Ashoka (259 BC). There are ruins of monasteries, some newly built Stupas and temples to see around. Then you will drive to Chitwan National Park. In the afternoon, you can watch Tharu Cultural dance at your hotel in Chitwan. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10

Jungle activities at Chitwan National Park

In Chitwan National Park, after having a hearty breakfast and tea, you will set out for the exciting jungle safari. On your choice, you can choose jeep safari which will take you through dense sal forests and grasslands. On option canoe ride along the Rapti river, where you can spot marsh mugger, gharial crocodiles and water birds. And if luck is on your side, you may catch sight of one-horned rhinoceroses, wild boars, deer and Bengal tigers. In returning to the lodge for lunch, our naturalist will guide you through Jungel walk. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11

Drive from Chitwan to Pokhara

This morning, after breakfast you will proceed onwards to Kathmandu. You will drive along the Trishuli River gradually gaining altitudes from 150m of Chitwan till 1300m of Pokhara Valley, through the roadside Bazaars, terraced fields and steep hills on the right.  Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12

Dhamphus Hike

After breakfast, drive by car to Phedi (21 km from Pokhara ),  it takes about half an hour. Start hiking at Phedi. 2-3 hours hike to Dhampus village . Enjoy the culture of the Gurung community from Dhampus , in clear weather you can see the Annapurna from here .

Day 13

Dhamphus - Pokhara - Kathmandu

After breakfast at the hotel walk down to Phedi then, drive back to Kathmandu through scenic routes.After you reach Kathmandu,your evening is at leisure. You can explore the Thamel area where you can shop various unique items as souvenirs, handicrafts and others.You can also get a chance to taste various cuisines including Newari, Nepali, Korean,Indian , Italian and many more.

Day 14

Kathmandu sighseeing

Today, you will witness the world heritage sites of Kathmandu. At first you will visit Kathmandu durbar square, the historic royal palace. The area is surrounded by pagodas, stone carving and courtyards. Walking in these sites, you can feel the positive vibration of this place. Next, you will climb to the hilltop swayambhunath stupa, where one can experience the aroma of prayer flags and wheels and scent of incense. After lunch, you will drive to the patan city, once a Royal kingdom. This place is an architectural jewel filled with metal workshops, stone carving and shrines. You’ll end the day immersed in the living culture of Kathmandu before returning to your hotel for dinner. overnight stay at hotel.

Day 15

Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and be ready for departure. Your driver will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic) for your departure flight, concluding your memorable journey through Nepal.
