Everest Dudhkoshi Cultural Trek (Listed in Nepal, a new trekking trail). The 8-day trip to the Solukhumbu region offers a combination of natural and ethnic Himalayan beauty. We began with a beautiful drive through Kathmandu to Silgudi. The trail curls around a lush rhododendron with wide views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Kanchenjunga as you walk.
This cultural and historical excursion will long be remembered. Trekkers can be accommodated in homestays and see how local communities live their lives. Attraction Sights include the Paasdha Waterfall and the Mahabir Rock Climbing Centre. The journey concludes upon your return to Kathmandu with beautiful memories of the mountains and the warm hospitality of Nepalese people.
How to Reach Everest Dudhkoshi cultural trek?
By Road: Salleri, the district headquarters of solukhumbu, is 277 km from kathmandu via Khurkot, Ghurmi, and Okhaldhunga. The journey take about 8-9 hours by Bus/Jeep.
By Air: Take 30-35 minute flight from Kathmandu to Phaplu, followed by a short drive (1 km to Salleri and 6 km to Silguri)

Itinerary
Drive to Silguri
The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Siliguri, by passing through hills. After 7-8 hours of ride, you’ll arrive at the charming viewpoint of Silguri (2,986m), and overnight stay at Silguri Gothstay. This place offers a magnificent panorama of giants like Mt. Everest, Mt.Kanchanjunga and countless other peaks.
Trek from Silguri to Ghumne Mera Via Ratnangge
After breakfast today, you will begin the next leg of your journey which is Ghumne Mera. The trail leads to the ancient Ghumnemera Monastery (2,796m), a spiritual retreat for trekkers. As you follow the path the air becomes fresh with the scent of forest. Tonight, you will rest in a cozy guesthouse.
Trek from Ghumne Mera to Yotelmya Via Kudham View Point
After a peaceful night at Ghumne Mera, you will ascend to the panoramic Kudham Viewpoint, a spotlight of the trek. Situated at (3,162m), is surrounded with rhododendron forests and offers the entire view of Khumbu region. After spending time at this point, You’ll descend to the Yotelmya Tourist shelter (2,986m) for overnight stay.
Trek from Yotelmya to Juving via Andheri
On this day ,you’ll trek to the historic village of Juving. Along the way, you’ll pass through Andheri, a traditional Khaling Rai settlement known as Dilung Rapchha (2,082m). Juving itself is home to the 16th-century Jubey Monastery, offering a profound glimpse into the spiritual heart of the region. Overnight in a homestay or guesthouse, enjoying the local hospitality.
Trek from Juving to Deurali via Hill, Solaban, Jaleswori Mandir
Today is a day of both natural and spiritual wonder as you trek to Deurali. You’ll journey through the scenic areas of Hill and Solaban, making a special stop at the famous Lord Mahadev temple, Jaleshwori Mandir. A sacred site, also known as Jor Dhunga, is the cultural roots of the region. Overnight at a comfortable guesthouse or homestay in Deurali.
Trek from Deurali to Waku & Drive to Losku via Kanku Bhumesthan
From Deurali, today, you will trek to the multi-ethnic settlement of Waku. The village where you can experience diverse local cultures through its homestays. From Waku, a scenic drive transports you to Losku via Kanku Bhumesthan. The journey offers captivating sights, including Khastap, the headquarters of Mapya Dudhkoshi, and the 17th-century Loor Mahadevstan temple, as well as the sacred Rapchha Bhumestan site. This is the last day on the trail so, get yourself relaxed and share the experience with your friend, what you have felt.
Drive from Losku to Silguri via Paasdha Jharana, Mahabhir Rock Climbing sport
Today’s Journey will take you back to Siliguri by driving. On the way you’ll stop at stunning Paasdha Waterfall and next at the Mahabir Rock Climbing center (2,152m), one of Nepal’s longest rappelling sites. A perfect example of the region’s blend of adventure and nature.
Drive back to Kathmandu
The trek ends with the mesmerizing mountain view from the Silguri. After breakfast at Silgudhi Gothstay you’ll begin your drive back to Kathmandu. With the memories of ancient trails, sacred sites, and the unforgettable hospitality of the Himalayan people.

This company was amazing. Incredibly well organized. I felt safe and spoiled. Our airport transports were always early and waiting for us. All of our reservations for our accommodations and busses were perfect. The temple tour we took was super fun and educational. Some of our luggage got stuck in our layover country and between this travel agency and our hotel they were able to get it for us and deliver it the next day. We also had a 10month old traveling with us and they made sure that our accommodation and travel plans were safe for him. During our 5 days of trekking, we had THE BEST guide/sherpa. I recently booked a tour with Plan Holidays, and I had a wonderful experience. Anuja scheduled the tour, and it was comforting to have our trip covered without any concerns. Our guide Shiva took us through Kathmandu, and showed all us the highlights of the city and provided us with the cultural and historical background. We also did the Poon Hill Trek with guides Chitiz and Ashmir, who provided a peaceful hike through the Himalayas. On our last two days, we spent time in Chitwan National Park, where our guide, Robin, took us on adventures where we saw crocodiles and rhinos.
The entire package was affordable, and our guides met our every need; they went out of their way for us on many occasions. It was comforting to get off the bus and see our guides waiting for us with our name tags. I would highly encourage anyone to book a trip through this company.
