Nagchu Horse Race Festival is the most
important folk festival in Tibet. People who gather for
the annual horse race festival in Nagchu town construct
a tent city. Dressing themselves and their finest horse,
thousands of herdsmen participate in the thrilling horse
race, archery and horsemanship contest. Other folk activities
and commodity fairs are also held. In 2005, the festival
falls on 10-16 th Aug. Here you have a suggested itinerary
that gives you chance to observe this festival. |

Day 01 06 AUG Arrival in Tsedang |

You can fly into Lhasa from Kathmandu or Chengdu
or Xian or Beijjing or Shanghai. Meet the guide upon arrival
at the airport and drive to Tsedang (3500 m), SS old Tsedang

Visit the Jambulakhang and Tandruk monastery, cross ferry and visit

Palkor Chode Monastery and Dzong. Drive to Shigatse,
