12 Nights/13 Days
The journey begins with the spectacular Trans Himalayan flight to Lhasa (3600m), the capital city of Tibet. You will be amazed to see the Mount Everest and many other majestic Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival in Lhasa airport, the Tibetan guide will meet you and transfer to hotel (96km, 2.5 hrs). You will spend a leisurely but vital few days acclimatizing to the altitude of the dry Tibetan Plateau. In and around Lhasa there is much to see, including the incredible Potala Palace, the Jorkhang Temple and surrounding markets of Barkhor. Being on bike means that the group can easily combine acclimatization with interesting tours of the many temples and religious sites that dominate this fascinating city.

From Lhasa we set out on our main objective; ride over the six major passes of the main Lhasa to Kathmandu route. Running parallel to the chain of the Greater Himalayas, we trace the natural boundary between Tibet and Nepal. The traverse of the high plateau will take us through the ancient monastery towns of Gyantse, Shigatse and Shegar, and we are sure to encounter many nomadic settlements as we make our remarkable journey towards Kathmandu.

The trip is a mix of ride and drive. A 4 WD jeep always backs you up all the time and a truck with camping gears; bike accessories and food-supplies will follow you. The guide and drivers will cook you simple Tibetan and Chinese foods or you can also join-in. Professional cook also can be hired on your request.
