Mount Kailash-the greatest attraction of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Buddhist devotees is the prime destination of this tour. You will visit the ruins of Tsaparann and Tholing-the center of lost Guge Kingdom of Western Tibet. After exploring, Lake Manasarovara, you will head for Lhasa-the abode of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. If you don not want to continue to Lhasa, you have option to divert to Nyalam and drive to Kathmandu.
To keep eyes on this exceptionally unusual and beautiful mountain and the equally sacred lake of Manasarovar is a great reward. Most of the days we camp outside. The road to Mt.Kailash and the holy lake of Manasarovar is wild .It is a road that crosses streams, high snow-covered passes and vast plains, we often come across herds of yaks and sheep being ridden by Tibetan nomads. It is not a comfortable trip. The distances traveled are much longer. Yet to stand at the foot of Kailash and to touch the icy water of the holy lake Manasarover will be an experience few people will ever brings us to Lhasa via Lhaste and Shigatse. |
