In a great part of Sikkim, where the population is most dense, the climate is temperate with quite enjoyable temperatures neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter. During the year, the temperature reaches an average of approximately 18 degrees celsius. Snowfall is a quite common sight in winter at heights above 6000 metres. In monsoon (between June and September) you have to be prepared to face heavy rainfalls that can cause landslides.
In the north of Sikkim tundra landscapes and in tht south subtropical landscapes prevail. |
