Dear Baral
This was the first time I booked directly through the WEB , and I thought it's a little risky, especially when I had to send my money to Katmandu and I wend to Delhi .
An interaction programme was organized on June 28, 2005 with twenty Thai Tour Operators who came here for FAM tour to share their experiences during their stay in Nepal .
His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev inaugurated the Promote Nepal-2005 exhibition amid a special ceremony at the City Centre in Doha, Qatar, on June 14, 2005.
This trek has been a popular destination
for trekkers since the very first ascent to the summit
of Mt Everest in the 1950s. It brings not only the visitors
close to the highest peak on the earth, but also provides
an insight into our culture and lifestyle of the highland
Sherpas. The stone walled fields and houses of ancient
villages steeped in history and tradition, golden roofed
monasteries set amidst stunning mountains and scenery
are equally adored. Sherpas are known for their feats
of courage and endurance on the world’s highest
mountains, for their understanding, hardness and humor;
they are indispensable in managing our treks. This trek
can be done either ways; you can drive till Jiri and
gradually ascend from 1860m to 2800m at Lukla where
otherwise you would reach to, by flight from Kathmandu
directly.
From either ways, after Phakding, the trail winds slowly
downwards to touch the Dudh Kosi River, passing fragrant
forest of juniper, blue pine and fir. Between 3600m
and 4200m, birch and rhododendron trees predominate.
Walking along a steep uphill trail you come to Namche
Bazaar, the largest Sherpa settlement. A further gain
in altitude brings you to Tengboche where we visit a
famous monastery and see how Lamas practice. The views
from Tengboche to mount Everest and other prominent
peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam & Cho Oyu
are awe aspiring.
This trip takes you to the lakes at Gokyo, crosses
the challenging and spectacular Cho La (Pass) to enter
the main Khumbu Valley, close to the base camp of
southern side of Everest.
