Dear Baral
This was the first time I booked directly through the WEB , and I thought it's a little risky, especially when I had to send my money to Katmandu and I wend to Delhi .
An interaction programme was organized on June 28, 2005 with twenty Thai Tour Operators who came here for FAM tour to share their experiences during their stay in Nepal .
His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev inaugurated the Promote Nepal-2005 exhibition amid a special ceremony at the City Centre in Doha, Qatar, on June 14, 2005.
The steepest, most technical and challenging
river in the country.
The name implies that this river has its
origin in Bhot or Tibet. It has upper sections of grade
5 and 6. Most of the commercially rafted section is from
much lower down and has an overall grade of 4 with a couple
or so harder rapids that warrant a 4+ or 5-.
The Bhote Kosi is one of the best two day raft trips to
be found anywhere in the world; just three hours from
Kathmandu.
Transportation to the river
The bus journey from Kathmandu takes 3-4 hours and rises
up out of the valley and drops down into the Sun Kosi
valley. From here the valley is followed upstream and
is still called the Sun Kosi. Close to Barabise the
Sun Kosi turns east and the Bhote Kosi goes north. Close
to the Km 95 marker the river can be accessed a run.
Further upstream the grades increase and they say that
if you don't get scared, just keep going upstream and
eventually you will!
On the river
When you reach the put-in point, you will be amazed
to see that the crews have already prepared lunch for
you. Then you start the adventures of the day. The day
ends at a campsite where the crews will have already
reached with the gears. Maybe the dinner is also ready.
The following day, after breakfast, again you are on
the thrilling rapids. In the afternoon, you will reach
the put-out point and you will proceed to Kathmandu.
Breakdown
Day 1: Bus to put-in from Kathmandu,
camp prepared, lunch, run upper section of river, back
to camp for the evening.
Day 2: Upper section run again, then
downstream to take-out, bus back to Kathmandu. Arrival
in the afternoon.
Marshyangdi
River
One of the wildest river.
Marsyangdi - The Raging River
Marsyangdi, the 'Raging River', starts to the north
of the Annapurna Range initially traveling southeast
and then south below Chame. Under the shadow of the
mighty Manaslu the river put-in, close to Ngadi, is
an amazing place with incredible views on this, the
early section of the 21-day Annapurna Circuit Trek.
Transportation to the river
Based out of Pokhara the initial bus journey is to Dumre
2-3 hours away. From Kathmandu, it takes 4 hours. Then
begins the bus journey from hill up the side of the
river to Besishahar. Expect to arrive there at the end
of the first day battered, beaten up and bruised. If
you’re looking for adrenaline, ride rooftop and
you'll get it! There is an overnight stay here. From
Besishahar it is a pleasant trek starting next morning
to Ngadi. You would expect to arrive at the put-in mid
to late afternoon, having had chance to see many of
the rapids on the walk-in.
On the river
The river journey starts just above Ngadi, some rapids
having to be lined and walked around near the start.
Some days, you will encounter more than 40 rapids, often
blending one into the next. You will have combination
of camping and lodges for accommodation on your trip,
which lasts three days on the river and concluded just
below Dumre.
