This ring trip starts at Lhasa after one day's sightseeing in the city; we drive to Kongpo Gyamda via Ganden monastery. Ganden monastery is the first Gelukpa monastery; the views from Ganden down into the Kyichu valley are great. We continue our driving to the lake of Basum Tso and camp at the bank. Tthe next day we will walk around the lake from the lake to Mt.Nanchak Barwa base camp will cost three days. Another day hiking around the base camp will give you an exhilarating experience. Then we trek back to the village of Pai and drive to Tsetsng. During the stay in Tsetang, we go to visit the Yumbulakang-the king's tombs. From Tsetang to the Airport is only about 100 km.
Easy: Easy trekking by Himalayan standards is generally up to 2000m. There are plenty of ups and downs on well-maintained trails. This type of trip is best suited for those who lead a reasonably active life. The trek takes about 3 to 7 days, walking about 4 to 5 hours a day.:
