Those who are not willing to retrace the way back to Jiri or fly to Kathmandu from Lukla can take this route as an alternative, which gives you an insight of eastern part of Nepal. The first six days from Lukla to Phedi are through country that is trodden by only few tourists. So, the facilities are primitive. The trail climbs over several ridges through Sherpa and Rai villages to the Arun Valley at 300m elevation. The trekking grade is quite medium and will bring you to the maximum elevation of 3349m.
