There are two routes to go from northern side to southernside of Kanchanjunga between Gunsa ( of  northen side) to Simbua Khola ( of the southern side).

1. The higher route crosses Lapsang La ( 5110m) which is often snow covered and  may be very difficult and dangerous for both trekkers and porters. This is a very remote area where help is long way off and evacuation is impossible.

2. The lower route with Mirgin la which comprise 5 passes ( the highest one has altitude-4724m).Although Mirgin La , in comparison to Lapsang La, is lower and safer, there is no regular traffic and when it becomes no less difficult than higher route.

Warning: Trekkers intending to go across the passes should be fully equipped and technically eligible. Porters have to be provided with good equipments. Harness, carabiners, upshell 8, boots with crampons and ropes indispensable.
