Kanchenjunga, the Third highest mountain in the Earth at an altitude of 8586 m (28,169 ft), rises in the far eastern part of Nepal bordering with Tibet and Sikkim. Nepali side of the Kanchenjunga area is covered by Kanchenjunga Conservation Area project funded by WWF with the cooperation with Nepal Government.
