Annapurna Region

Annapurna Trekking areas situated on the western Himalayan Range from Manang District to Dhaulagiri Zone. There are more than 100 thousand people living in the valleys & mountains, they are multi-linguistic & multi-cultural groups. The Annapurna region is rich in biodiversity and is a treasure house for 1,226 species of flowering plants, 102 mammals, 474 birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians.

Tilicho Lake, the world’s highest altitude fresh water lake & Kali Gandaki Gorge, the world's deepest river gorge have made Annapurna region a unique place in the World. The region is also garlanded by the world's largest Rhododendron Forest in Ghorepani.

The cultural diversiy of the Annapurna Region is equally rivaled by biological diversity. Magar & Gurung are major dominant groups in the south whereas Thakali, Loba & Manange are major dominant groups in the North. Each of the groups have their own dialect, their own Language & own unique cultures & traditions. Brahmin, Chhetri & other minority caste groups are also living in the region.
