
Nepal has the glory, of about 6000 big and small rivers, which flow uninterruptedly from its lap of Himalayas. These rivers contain the capacity to generate 83,000MW electricity as a whole. This can be well supportive for its rising economy. Most of the rivers are carrying the better possibilities of entertain to the daredevils, pleasure seekers for boating, rafting, bungee jumping etc. acts.
According to the origin, Nepal’s rivers can be divided in to three different categories. They are- Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali river system. All of them have the origin to the glaciers and snow- fed lakes.
Koshi river system consists seven different rivers. Sapta koshi river consists the water of all, seven rivers of this system, which finally merges into Ganges. The Gandaki river system too consists of seven major rivers. Kali gandaki is the longest and Trishuli is the main tributary of this system. Karnali is the longest river system of Nepal which consists four major rivers. Humla Karnali is the main tributary of this system.
