
Similar to the neighboring nation India Hinduism is the dominant religion of Nepal. More than 80 percent people have the strong faith on this religion. This religion has the belief of Polytheism with a basic trinity of three gods- Brahma; the creator, Vishnu; the preserver and Shiva; the destroyer. Buddhism is the second dominant religion of Nepal. This place of Lord Buddha is disseminating the echo of peace throughout the world along with this religion. Beside these two dominant religions minority of Nepalese adhere to Jain, Islam and Christianity. Religious tolerance is the unique feature of Nepali religion since time immemorial. Nepal after the people’s movement of 2006 has turned into secular from the Hindu nation. This move has further harmonizing the bond of different religions.
Like religion, Nepal has the diverse cultural practices. Different caste and ethnic community have their own unique cultural practices. They respect the culture and religion of each other.
