W. Kirkpatrick, emissary of the British Governor General, wrote in 1811 “There are nearly as many temples as houses, and as many idols as inhabitants.” Indeed, to visit all the famous shrines and temples in Kathmandu, the valley of the gods, is a major undertaking: there are more of them per square kilometer than anywhere else in the world.

Chitwan is a UNESCO world heritage site and is home to a variety of flora and fauna including the endangered Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger.

Visit all major temples, palaces and stupas in the Kathmandu valley. There are seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu valley and this trip has you visiting all of them. Hop on an elephant's back and ride through the jungles in Chitwan. Look out for the one-horned rhino and, hopefully, the elusive Bengal Tiger. The best months for this trip are September through May.
