Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport we meet & greet and transfer you to your chosen hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free for you to settle into your hotel and relax, or start exploring the local area.
Day 2: Durbar Square Sigheseeing
After a morning pre-tour briefing we head out into Kathmandu for a tour of the city. We visit Dubar Square, with its numerous temples and the old royal palace, we take a walk up to the top of Swayambunath Stupa, for a great view over the city, and of course there is plenty of time to enjoy the numerous shops and stalls along the way. The evening is free for you to try out one of the many local restaurants.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara
This morning we travel by road to Pokhara. The drive offers a great chance to see rural Nepal as we cross the foothills of the Himalayas. The landscape can be breathtaking in places, with snow-capped peaks, roaring rivers and traditional hillside villages. Arriving in Pokhara we check in to our hotel and the rest of the day is free to relax and explore this picturesque lakeside town.
Day 4 – 7: Trek to Poonhill
We spend the next three days trekking up into the Annapurna Mountains to
Poonhill. Starting at Nayapul we climb up through rhododendron forest steadily gaining height. The spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, including Machhapuchhare, Dhaulagiri and the Annapurnas, make the climbing all worthwhile. We overnight in basic but comfortable mountain lodges, and enjoy the legendary Nepalese hospitality. Reaching the summit of Poon Hill affords our best views yet and from here it is all downhill as we head into the Kali Gandaki river valley to Tatopani, famed for its hot springs.
Day 8: Drive back to Pokhara
Today we trek to Birethati, where we then transfer back to Pokhara by road. Once back in Pokhara there is time to recover from our trekking with a big meal at one of the many excellent lakeside restaurants and a welcome night in a hotel.
Day 9: Adventure of Rafting
A short drive today takes us to our put in point for an exciting rafting expedition on the Seti River. This river is not one of Nepal’s hardest, but does provide a great introduction to white-water rafting and is one of the countries warmest rivers, so the occasional enforced swim shouldn’t come as too much of a shock! The night is spent camping on a sandy beach by the river after eating a hearty dinner cooked by our guides.
Day 10: Drive to Chitwan
The morning brings more rafting excitement as we tackle the biggest rapids of the trip so far. Soon it is time to leave the river behind and continue by road to Chitwan National Park. Upon arrival in Chitwan we settle into our wildlife lodge and the evening is free to relax and unwind.
Day 11 – 12: Jungle Activities
We spend the next two full days exploring Chitwan National Park in search of, amongst others, tiger, rhino and wild elephant. We’ll take a safari on the back of an elephant, a river ride by canoe, a jeep safari and a walking safari, and we’ll also enjoy a village tour to see first hand the traditional day to day life of the locals.
Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu
From Chitwan we drive back up into the mountains to Kathmandu. Once back in Kathmandu the rest of the day and evening is free for you to relax after the days drive.
Day 14: Mountain Flight
