Nepal is a heady mix, a fascinating land of ancient history, vivacious cultures and people, bio-diversity and scenic splendor. The varied landscape has some of the best sites; raging rivers to run, mountains to scale, clear blue skies, challenging treks, fine lakes to boat, fish and raft down and a wild terrain to ride. Adventure tourism in Nepal has come a long way to add rafting, biking, paragliding, ultra-light aircraft flights, hot air ballooning, bungy jumping etc; to its all time popular adventure trekking, mountaineering and game watching.

It is often said that in the Kathmandu valley contains more temples than houses. On nearly every corner and public squares sits at least one sacred monument; may it be a towering wooden pagoda or just a simple rock recognized as holy. The daily religious rituals are part of Nepalese peoples’ daily life as is evident around the Durbar squares of Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.

At Kurintar a spiritual adventure to the abode of Manakamana (1,302m), the wish fulfilling goddess in a cable car. Manakamana boasts the breathtaking view of the Manaslu- Himalchuli and Annapurna massifs to the north. More adventure awaits in Pokhara; paragliding (between November and February), Ultra-light aircraft (September through June) or pony ride of various lengths. At The Last Resort built on the rocky edges of Bhote Koshi river, the adventure never ends with the thrills of bungy jumping dropping over 160m in the Bhote Koshi gorge, whitewater rafting in the steepest river rafted in Nepal, mountain biking or simply relaxing with herbal steam massage. The rock-climbing trip has also been extremely popular among the adventurous tourists coming into Nepal. It is arranged on the cliff of Nagarjun hill located to the northwest of the Swayambhunath stupa, which is suitable for both beginners and wallrats. It can also be arranged on the Shivapuri hill located to the north of Kathmandu, which has a fine rock wall on its slope.
