We strongly condemn the activities of sexual offence to women tourists which has been time to time reported to have occurred in Nepal. Our managers and guides are educated, trained and all have deep sense of respect to all women tourists. Just as well are our partner companies in India, Tibet and Bhutan because we would like to assure you that traveling with Plan Holidays and our partner companies is always safe. However, it's advisable that tourists women have to be equally careful from their end. Here follows some of the important tips that can help minimize the chance of being sexually harassed or exploited.

Its very important that you have some knowledge about the cross-culture.
Dress up yourself properly. Do not wear transparent and revealing clothes.
Hugging, kissing and touching between opposite sex can be normal in the west but can be misinterpreted in our sub-continent. In Nepal, we even don't hold hands of our spouse in public!

In tourism industry of Nepal we have tradition that most companies officially host a welcome dinner (before the tour commences) or farewell dinner (after the trip concludes) to their guests/clients. But if any individual invites you for dinner, drink or party it's not necessary that you will take it as an obligation. If you decide to be his guest though, do not keep yourself unaware of the activities and behaviors exhibited by your host. It has been reported that the drinks are cocktailed or some toxicants added in the drinks and women tourists are sexually abused or exploited.

Trekking alone is not recommended. Even in the cities, walking out alone at night can be dangerous. Do not stay in bars and pubs till late night. Do not respond to the jerks who advances for introduction and friendship in such bars.

The victims are reported to be pessimistic about the effectiveness of action being taken against sex offenders by the local administration or police but not reporting cases of abuse encourages culprits to repeat the same offenses against other tourists, so the victims must try to report incidents as quick as possible.
