The hot water at Tatopani is said to have a healing value that ease away and alleviate pains associated with bones, joints, nerves, skin diseases and obesity. The water here has a yellowish tinge owing its large amount of iron content.

There are three bath chambers at Tatopani, for men, women and tourists, each bath with two stone water spouts that pour forth water from the natural hot-spring. There is also a cold, normal water tap nearby for further wash.

During the visit to Tatopani, tourists can also visit nearby villages, interact with the local people, observe the beautiful scenery and relax in the serene shadows of the mountains. Toward the southern part of Tatopani are a few settlements of about 11 houses. Nearby is also the charming Tamang village of Brimdang, which is only an 1 ½ or 2 from Tatopani. Home-stays are available in Brimdang. Another option is to trek to Nagthali pass and observe the spectacular sights of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Kerung and other mountain ranges.
